This policy lists what you may not do with CarlHost services. It applies to every VPS, game server, VPN and IP transit service, and to anyone using them through your account.
1. Prohibited activities
- Any activity that is illegal in the Netherlands, in the European Union or in your own country.
- Sending spam or unsolicited bulk email, or hosting content promoted through spam.
- Launching or taking part in denial-of-service attacks, port scans, brute-force attempts or any unauthorised access to other systems.
- Hosting or distributing malware, phishing pages, botnet controllers or stolen data.
- Hosting content that infringes copyright or other intellectual property rights.
- Hosting or distributing child sexual abuse material. We report it to the competent authorities.
- Using the VPN service to hide activities that this policy prohibits.
- Announcing IP space you are not authorised to use through our IP transit service.
2. Fair use of resources
Shared resources must be used fairly. A service that seriously affects the performance of other customers may be limited until the problem is solved.
3. Abuse reports
We investigate every abuse report we receive. You must answer our requests about a report within the time we indicate. To report abuse of our network, write to abuse@carlhost.com.
4. Consequences
If a service breaks this policy, we may suspend or terminate it, with or without notice depending on how serious the case is. No refund is due for services terminated for abuse. We cooperate with authorities when required by law.
